Olympics work!

We have started our work on the Olympics. We have many activities to complete, I have to do…

1. A page on our class wiki space about South Africa.

2. A page on our class wiki space about diving.

3.We have two booklets of sheetwork about the Olympics and Beijing that we need to complete.

4.I have 8 activities using the eigh mitiple intelligences, word smart, logic smart, picture smart, body smart, music smart, people smart and self smart. So we have to do a small activitie for each of the smarts which range from very easy to hard.

I’m not sure yet when it is due in, but it’s going to take up alot of my time doing all this work.

Do you have any work hat you are doing for the Olympics???

P.S Have a look at the links and have a look what Iv’e done about diving and South Africa on the Wiki also you can have a look at what other people have done to their pages…..

My Music System!

Iv’e added a music player to my wigits, any songs can be played on it I just have to download them from the site where I got my Wigit from. But the songs are not for just me to listen to, I want feedback from you, what songs would you like to hear on my music player?? Please tell me because I will download them and I really do need more songs on there!

You Have proberbly noticed that a few people in our class have mini Ipods and    other music players on their blogs well that is all thanks to Ashleigh for helping and teaching us all to get them working! So thankyou very much.

A day up the Mountain!

On a Cold winter morning me and my cousins went up the mountain, It was freezing but we all rugged up, We made a snowman, slid down  the hills on our car mats and We had Snow fights.

Our snowman was made out of snow with a carrot for a nose, potatoes for eyes and many other foods for other parts of the body, She wore a scarf and beanie my little cousin named her Asher.

While we had snow fight we were on teams, we all got really wet and got hit by many snowballs. It was great fun!

We slid down the hills on our car mats but they didn’t work very well so we then went down the on our belly’s which was cool.

Just as we were about to leave my cousin fell down a hole that was up to her neck, it looked so funny she needed help to get out!!!!

Hatchet review and map!

Have you read the book Hatchet?

During terms one and two we read the novel Hatchet.

Many teachers read the book and that is all you do, but no not Miss W! We had to make a map of the  lake and surroundings where Brians plane crashed, It was hard work and we had to practially read most of the book again to work out where the plotting on the map is.

I’m going to tell you about the the dangers that Brian faced but learnt lessons from while in the forest bacause I don’t want you to know the whole storyline because I wouldn’t like to reck the book for you.

(28) Brian realised that he didn’t die which taught him to keep fighting.

(34-35) Water- Brian drank his first sip of water since the crash which is when he realised that he could survive for a few days longer with water.

(45-46) Shelter- Brian made his first Shelter which was a Lean-On shelter.

(49-50) Berries- Brian found the berries by following the birds which made him stronger by having food.

(64-68) Porkipine- Brian threw the hatchet at the Porkipine when it was putting spikes in his legs, Brian missed the porkipine and hit concrete rock which made sparks and it was then that he realised he could make fire.

(78-79) Turtle- He found turtle eggs buried which would feed him for a few days.

I think that if you like reading it would be good to have a read of hatchet and leave me a comment about how you liked the book?

About myself!

I got the idea to write a post about myself from a blogger named Nadine. She visits my blog regularly and I also visit hers. She  was telling me about how much we had in common but you  know what, I didn’t know much about her and she didn’t really know much about me. Nadine has written a post on her blog about herself so know I now what her interests, hobbies and favourite subjects are. She said that I should write a post about myself, so here we go….

I’m Lisa, I started blogging just this year and I’m really enjoying it. I play tennis which is my favourite sport once a week. I also enjoy playing a bit of netball.

My favourite subject is cooking because I will use the recipes we are learning today when I’m an old lady, All the food we cook is really delicious and the recipes are easy to follow and not to many ingredients.

I enjoy going out in our boat on the weekends, we go to the sand-dunes and slide down them on our body boards which is great fun. We also go to a place where there is  tree-swings and we swing off the swings into the water which I also really enjoy.

Well so now now you now a bit about me and comment me if you think we have something in common….

Our Visit To the Marine Centre!

Our middle school have been working hard to get as many stamps as possible. 25 people with the most stamps got to go on an excursion so on Thursday the 10th of July we went to The local Marine Centre (I was one of the lucky ones).

We left school at about 8.45 and had an one hour bus trip, It was very boring but we occupied ourselves by talking and me and my friends read some magazine, listened to music and played naughts and crosses.

We arrived at the Centre at about 10.00, We were warmly welcomed by the workers. While we were at the centre we learnt how a boat depth sounder works and learnt about heaps of the Tasmania sea life. At the centre there are many water tanks that had fish in them, We got to touch a little shark and if the big shark had have come of the ground we would have been able to touch that as well. Everyone thinks of sharks as scary and dangerous, they sure can be but they can also be nice!

We worked though a worksheet and then went on a boat trip, While on the boat we got to steer the boat and also we put a net under the water, down on the sand and left it for three minutes. When we bought it up it was full of shells, crabs, sea weed, fish and mud. It got tipped out onto a table and we got to sort through it using tweezers, People in my group found  what looked like a baby geurnet, they really hurt if you touch them so we had to be really careful. We also found many crabs shells, a baby leather jacket which was tiny and HEAPS OF MUD!!!!

We then got back on the bus for a long trip back to school!

I had a good day and think everyone else did too!!

Football!

At the town of Santa Teresa in central Australia they really love their football, but haven’t got much of an oval to play on it’s not very green. But it’s there favourite thing to do they train at least an hour a day and are really good players.

There team is called the Saints, they have won nearly all of their games this season and have now been chosen to play at the MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground) before an AFL match and the AFL talent searchers and people from Melbourne schools were there. The schools offered scolarships to two young players Brentley and Selwin.

There are now 75 Indigenous Australian playing for AFL and more are trying to get in.

The game at the MCG, They played against the All-Stars and were winning at the beginning but as the game progressed the started to fall behind and the All- Stars ended up winning, but the Saints were very happy to be playing at the MCG they didn’t mind that they didn’t win.

Selwyn got best on ground for the game and Brentley was awarded the scolarship and may have a AFL career one day.

Have you ever tried playing football, are you very good???
